So I came here, and this post came up and said that there was a driver available that was NOT AlexP's, which are the ones that you linked me to. So I'm thinking something must be fucked up with the driver. It all looks very strange.Īlso, whenever there's one point of light in the bottom area, it picks up the point of light from the LED, but it also picks up one on the right of it (about 2 ft away from the LED in the image) and one on the left. The only 'modification' I make is: put a negative film in the front on the lens, that's all. However, that audio and TV tuner capture by themselves take 1.5k lines is absurd. It was 3.5k lines but I removed audio and TV tuner support. I'm writing new capture code that works with ps3 eye dialog and it's 2k lines. The Windows video capture subsystem is a mess. if I raise it up to the top 80% of the image, the light is still there, but freetrack does not register it as a point. however using my old freetrack, ps3 eye can see those ir leds straight out of the box, without removing the IR filter. I wasn't able to fix codec issues on my installs either. Face track No IR uses the FreeTrack software. PS3Eye cam can do 120 -180fps at 320x240 in opentrack.

With it you get accella v4 (FTNOIR has 2) which is noticeably smoother. It gets more updates than facetrack but only uses opensource addons. Your better off using FacetracknoIRs sibling app. If you buy a PS 3 Eye (older model) you can easily remove the IR filter and use the PS 3 eye with FreeTrack. With the PS3 Eye and IR clip with pointracker. FreeTrack is much more stable than Face track No IR. On top of that, I always had to set FreeTrack or OpenTrack to Above Normal for processing power Then it’d be smooth with some chop. And it worked well, but it didn’t track eyes and I can’t move my neck much. I had an old Windows XP webcam without an IR filter. The reason I did this is because I’ve been using the PS3 Eye with an IR Lens added in conjunction with a TrackIR Clip Pro.

For instance, in the lower 20%, I can activate an IR led, and the software will track it as a point. Years ago I built a FreeTrack tracking system. There is an area in both the 320x240 and the 640x480 that is pitch black, and any areas with light show up as Red areas, but the top 80% of the picture is not tracking any light. I've found those before, and have followed the setup, but the camera is not working properly with Freetrack.
